Fiddler’s Jamboree

Smithville, Tennessee

July 6th – July 7th

Each day begins at 9am with over 35 music and dance categories, streets full of hand-made crafts, and food booths galore. This FREE family-friendly festival has been named the official Jamboree & Crafts Festival of the State of Tennessee. The old-time Fiddlers’ Jamboree is a DeKalb County tradition that draws musicians, craft artists, and spectators to the Smithville Square each summer around the Independence Day weekend. Over time, the festival became a broader tribute to Appalachian art and culture.

Cookeville, Tennessee

June 30th – July 1st

“SlideCKVL will be the biggest two-day water party of the summer,” Cookeville Mayor Ricky Shelton said. “There will be music, dancing, food, drinks and even some swag for sale so you can soak up the sun in style.”

The waterslide will begin near the Courthouse Square in downtown Cookeville. Saturday’s hours are 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.; Sunday’s hours are 12:00PM – 8:00PM.

Night Hike at Cummins Falls State Park

Cookeville, Tennessee

June 29th – 8:00PM – 11:00PM

Okay, so not patriotic really but still cool! Come experience Cummins Falls State Park at dark as Ranger Vaden leads a short night hike along the Overlook and Downstream trails. This Hike will allow you to hear the night sounds in the park and see the waterfall. Afterward, meet back at the Tiny House for a campfire with hotdogs and s’mores.
