Entertaining seeks to impress while hospitality seeks to serve. It’s all in the details and that’s why it’s only proper to think ahead when hosting! Here are 6 things you should have in your guest bedroom.
Wifi password
Make it easy for your guests to check in with family and friends when they reach their destination by sharing your home’s wifi password. This comes in handy especially when you never got around to changing the given password consisting of random numbers and letters.
Extra pillows and blankets
Keep your guests comfortable by providing cozy blankets and extra pillows. Spruce up the room and add some color with a few accent pillows and throws.
Reading material
Always keep a supply of magazines such as Southern Living, Better Homes and Gardens or local publications in the guest bedroom. Reading at night before falling asleep is a great way to relax. This will also give guests something to do while you’re preparing a meal or tackling other hosting duties.
Candle
Candles are always necessary. The soft, flickering light of a candle creates ambiance, and there’s nothing better than walking into a room with a clean, inviting scent. Seasonal scents are fun options. You can also select a scent that is native to your area; fresh peach for Georgia, leather or whiskey for Tennessee, oak for North Carolina or fresh cotton for Mississippi.
Towels & Washcloths
Have towels and other linens easily accessible and ready to go in the guest bedroom. Avoid the whole “searching in the nude for a clean towel” scenario.
Toiletries
More times than not, things are forgotten or not packed so one way to accommodate guests is by providing a decorative glass container filled with sample-sized lotion, shampoo and conditioner.
