Is Your Home Ready? The Spring Real Estate Market is Around the Corner in the Upper Cumberland!

It’s that time of year again in the Upper Cumberland!  Colder days are upon us! The winter market is rocking, which means Spring is going to be a booming time to sell your home here in the Upper Cumberland! Need some tips for selling your home?

On cold days when you are stuck inside, it is a great time to get a jump start on some spring cleaning. This is important especially if you are planning or thinking about selling your home in the next few months.

Here are a few tips for selling your home as you get ready to list your home:

Closets

Clean out all the clutter, wipe down the shelving and/or drawers. Get rid of anything you haven’t worn or used in over a year. Your closets will appear much more functional to a potential buyer if they’re not over cluttered.

Baseboards & Trim

Wiping down all the baseboards and trim work in your home can do wonders for your space – fresh smells and a very clean/sharp look.

Changing Air Filter

There are many benefits of replacing the air filter in your home on a regular basis, so I highly recommend including this in your regular monthly maintenance checklist. You definitely don’t want a dirty filter when a potential buyer is doing a “health analysis” of your home – this is an easy and cheap item to check off your list.

Refrigerator/Freezer

Clean out any lingering outdated food items along with cleaning and disinfecting all your shelves and drawers.  This is guaranteed to make you feel better, immediately!

Chair & Couch Cushions

Remove all your cushions from your couches, chairs, and stools, vacuum all the cracks and crevices at a minimum.  If you are able to, clean your cushions!  If you have leather couches and chairs, condition or clean the leather.  Furniture can hold foul or distinct odors, so cleaning your furniture can surprisingly improve the overall look and smell of a room!

Get in Touch

Hopefully, adding these 5 tips to your checklist will help pass the time at home if you’re getting cabin fever on these colder winter days in the Cookeville area.  Besides feeling productive and improving your current living space, these cleaning items will help get your home ready for the Upper Cumberland Real Estate Market come Spring, and will help potential buyers feel comfortable with the level of maintenance and care your home has received.  As always, feel free to give myself or any agent at the Realty Firm a shout if you have any questions – We cover the entire Upper Cumberland area with offices in Cookeville, TN and Byrdstown, TN covering all surrounding counties.
